State Street Dancers is Philadelphia area’s only source for FatChanceBellyDance(R) Style instruction.

FatChanceBellyDance(R) Style is the main improvisational group dance style in the family of ‘tribal bellydance’ styles. Formerly known as American Tribal Style, it is movement that harkens back to another place and time and is a blend of traditional folkloric movements from around the world.

FCBD(R) Style has a defined movement vocabulary based on walking and uses ‘lead and follow’ group format to synchronize dancers together. Movements emphasize the natural bounce and sway of the hips which many find a release from the stress of everyday life, emphasizes proper posture which has health benefits, and builds community by interacting without words.

FUNdamentals (Level1) classes are approx 1 hour.
